Activated carbon
We have expanded our range of services to cover activated carbon services. We represent Sorbotech activated carbon and Sorbofil activated carbon filters, which are both known for their high quality and exceptional properties. Water and air purification
Activated carbon is an excellent option for purifying a wide range of targets and applications. Its mechanism of action is based on the porous surface structure of activated carbon. Contaminants adhere to this structure and are therefore removed from the treated material. Potable water can be purified using activated carbon before disinfection and discharge to the water supply network. Activated carbon can also be used to purify water and wastewater used in industrial applications.
It is important to analyze the gas to be treated in order to identify the specific hazardous substance and to select the appropriate type of activated carbon for the application. Industrial processes and biogas production generate different kinds of hazardous substances, so activated carbon is always selected based on a case-specific basis. Activated carbon can also be used to prevent nuisance odours, as the most common sources of such odours relate to waste or to wastewater management and treatment. The most common solution is an activated carbon filter equipped with a fan to create negative pressure at the source of the odour and direct all bad smells through the activated carbon bed.
